The ceilings in this home had all been painted with a Calcimine wash. Since calcimine is essentially a water-based mixture of chalk and glue binder, in time any modern paint applied over a calcimine base will fail. As a result, patches of peeling paint hang from your ceiling, and paint chips litter your floors.
One of Bill’s tasks was to correct the calcimine “issue” throughout the house.
The ceilings in the library sustained water damage from a clogged interior gutter. Bill repaired the walls, ceilings, and all the plaster moldings.
All ceilings had to restore plasterwork. & painted.
Bill repaired these ancient skylights, and got them back in working condition.
